Human Right Education Back
On 6th November 2013 FIDES organized human Rights education in two places one in Avalahalli in the campus of FIDES office and the other in Ulsoor for the SHG members. More than 130 women came for the programme. Mrs. Margaret Sampath the deputy director of SIKRAM and Mr. Manohar an advocate were the resource persons for the day. Mrs. Margaret explained in depth the definition of Human rights, four main human rights - Right to Live, Right to equality, Right to Freedom and Right to Dignity, with examples from day to day life. Mr. Manohar dealt about women’s rights and legal matters. They discussed at length about the abuses against woman, problems related to rape, child marriage, abortion, female infanticide prostitution, dowry, lock up death and other social evils prevailing in our society. Finally they had interaction with the participants and cleared all their doubts and questions. The resource persons assured their availability and readiness to help us in any need related to human rights and its implementation at all levels. All the participants were very happy and actively participated in the programme retuned home enlightened and determined.
